The Third Wheel

Once again you and Oikawa were arguing while Iwaizumi just watched, shaking his head in annoyance. This scene had started to become an everyday routine.


Iwaizumi sighed, he would never admit it out loud but he honestly enjoyed his time with the both of you. There was only one problem, his growing jealousy.


He had never had a problem seeing you and Oikawa together until the day he noticed the sudden gleam in Oikawa’s eyes whenever you were mentioned. The way his friends face would brighten up as soon as he looked at you. As soon as he realized his friends feelings for you, he began noticing how out of place he felt. He was the third wheel. After all you and Oikawa hung out even when he wasn't there.


Unfortunately you and him weren't as close as he thought you were and this was beginning to distress him. He sighed once again, how could he and Oikawa like the same girl?


“Oikawa!” Iwaizumi snapped back to reality as he heard your yell.


You were currently jumping up and down trying to snatch back your notebook from Oikawa. Iwaizumi couldn’t help but pout as he saw the close proximity between you two.


“Give it back already!” you yelled meanwhile stretching out your hands as far as you could.


Oikawa let out a small laugh, “Why are you freaking out so much about your notebook ____? Don’t tell me you wrote your crushes name in here or something like that?”


Iwaizumi knew Oikawa was only joking around but as soon as he noticed a slight pink color make it’s way onto your cheeks his curiosity grew.


“W-wait! Don’t tell me you really wrote your crushes name in here!?” As soon as Oikawa said that he turned his back towards you and began looking through the book.


“S-stop Oikawa! Y-you can’t look! It’s none of your business!”


Iwaizumi watched as you began to panic, desperately trying to grab the book. He felt a slight pain in his chest. Could it be that the person you liked was Oikawa and that’s why you were trying so hard to get it back?


Before he even realized it, he had already began making his way towards you two. In one swift movement he grabbed the notebook out of Oikawa’s hands. Both you and Oikawa stood there surprised as Iwaizumi handed it back to you.

“Thanks Iwaizumi.” you said as you clutched your notebook closer towards you.


“Awww that’s no fun! I was so close to finding out who ____ likes!” Oikawa said with a huge pout on his face.


Iwaizumi simply ignored him and began walking towards the gym. “I’m going to practice now. I've wasted enough time watching you two idiots fight.”


“Ah wait up!” Oikawa called out to him


You simply yelled out good bye and started walking the other direction.


Once Oikawa was sure you were out of earshot he spoke, “ Iwaizumi couldn’t you have let me look through the book a little longer?”


“____ looked like she was about to pass out from how much she was freaking out. There’s no way I could’ve let you keep looking through it.” he replied calmly.


“But aren’t you curious as to who she likes? What if it was my name she wrote!? Ah now I won't be able to sleep at night until I find out who it is.”


Iwaizumi kept walking as he quietly muttered, “Of course I’m curious.”


But he definitely wasn’t ready to find out. If who you liked truly is Oikawa, he needed a little more time…...
